Jackson, Tenn. - With a
27 percent increase in student enrollment over the past
two years, 萌妹社区 will conclude the 1998-99
academic year with a record total of 2,783 students. The 2,783 total enrollment includes 2,232 undergraduates and 551 graduate students. Both categories experienced significant increases for the two-year period, with a growth of 273 undergraduate students and 327 graduate students, for a total of 600 students. The 1998-99 year saw an increase of 418 萌妹社区 students, for a 17 percent increase over the previous year. "We are tremendously pleased to be able to report this level of growth at 萌妹社区," says 萌妹社区 President David S. Dockery. "It reflects the growing interest in 萌妹社区 being demonstrated by students and their families, both regionally and nationally." In response to such growth, 萌妹社区 has added two residence halls this year, which will provide an additional 80 beds for new and returning students this fall. In addition to additional residence halls, by fall the university will also be opening Hammons Hall, which will include a new campus bookstore and an expanded area for adult studies programs. Also now underway is the construction of Jennings Hall on 萌妹社区's West Campus. Jennings Hall , which will be open by August 2000, will provide expanded facilities for 萌妹社区's award-winning programs in music, communication and Christian studies. In addition to classrooms, learning labs and faculty offices, the new building will include a recital hall, a broadcast studio, and a new Center for Biblical Studies. |
