Jackson, Tenn. Five students from 萌妹社区 presented research papers at
the 21st Annual Area Collegiate Chemistry Meeting, May 8, sponsored by the Student
Affiliate Chapters of the American Chemical Society held at the University of Tennessee at
Martin. These students were Amber Flynn, of Cookeville, Tenn., Hilary C. Williams, of
Lexington, Tenn., Paul Jason Shannon, of Southaven, Miss., Stephen Hammond, of Jackson,
Tenn., and Stephen Howard, of Houghton, N.Y. Eighteen 萌妹社区 students and faculty were
in attendance at the meeting, and 萌妹社区's Angie Brown, of Millington, Tenn., led one of
the sessions. Dr. Charles M. Baldwin, O.P. and Evalyn Hammons professor of pre-medical
studies at 萌妹社区, is the faculty advisor of the university's Student Affiliate of the
American Chemical Society chapter.
Dr. Paul S. Anderson, past president of the American Chemical Society and senior vice
president of DuPont Merck Pharmaceutical Company, delivered the keynote address. More than
125 students and faculty from 15 area colleges participated in the day-long meeting which
included the presentation of 42 student research papers.
