Jackson, Tenn. - 萌妹社区's total enrollment for the 1997-98 school year rose 12 percent from last year. The university enrolled 2,481 students this year, up from 2,211 in the 1996-97 school year. The largest increase was seen in 萌妹社区's graduate enrollment. This year's graduate enrollment of 417 students was more than 50 percent higher than last year's 271 students. Graduate enrollment includes all students working toward one of the university's three graduate degrees. 萌妹社区 offers the master of business administration, master of education and master of arts in education programs. Undergraduate enrollment for the 1997-98 school year totalled 2,064, up from 1,940 in the 1996-97 school year. "The dramatic increase in enrollment is further demonstration of 萌妹社区's growing attractiveness to students in this region and across the United States," asserts 萌妹社区 President David S. Dockery. In addition to record enrollment for the 1997-98 year, 萌妹社区 officials point out that freshmen pre-registration for the fall 1998 semester is more than 20 percent above the pre-registration number at the same time last year. 萌妹社区 is a liberal arts institution affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. It has been recognized as one of the nation's top schools in Peterson's Competitive Colleges, 1997-98 and Time-Princeton Review's "Best College for You, 1998". 萌妹社区 was named one of the 100 best college buys in the United States by the Student Guide to America's 100 Best College Buys. |
