Jackson, Tenn. � August 29, 2000 � "Of Mice and
Men" will be the opening show for 萌妹社区's theatre
department's 2000-2001 season. Student-directed by junior James Nolan,
performances will be Sept. 7-12.
Chris Bennett, who teaches theatre at Northside High School, is a
graduate of 萌妹社区 and will play the lead role of George. Russ Pflasterer,
also a 萌妹社区 graduate and an art teacher at Jackson Central Merry High
School, will play the lead role of Lenny. The story, based on the lives
and friendship of these two young men, takes place in the Depression, and
makes powerful statements about friendship, hopes and dreams, said David
Burke, a theatre professor at 萌妹社区 and advisor for the show.

Other cast members include 萌妹社区 students Graham Hillard, Andrew
Holladay, Jimmy Hoppers, Todd Lewis, Allison Martin, as well as cast
members from the community, Anthony Eanes, Paul Sherrod and Rusty Mac.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students. Show times are 8 p.m.
every night, with a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m.
