1998 graduation ceremony.

Larry McSwain, president of Shorter College, was the Jackson ceremony's commencement speaker. Shorter College is located in Rome, Ga., and is affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Convention.

Before Shorter, McSwain served as provost of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., where he also received his master of divinity and doctorate.

萌妹社区 Provost Carla D. Sanderson delivered the commencement address at the Germantown ceremony. Sanderson is currently serving her ninth year as 萌妹社区's dean of the school of nursing. The commencement included the first graduating class of 萌妹社区's RN-to-BSN program on the Germantown campus.

This is the second year 萌妹社区 has held a fall graduation ceremony. The University began offering a fall commencement in 1996, so that students who fulfill their degree requirements during the fall or winter semesters can graduate closer to the time they complete their college curriculum.
