JACKSON, Tenn. — Aug. 29, 2001 — 萌妹社区 President David S. Dockery and 萌妹社区 First Lady Mrs. Lanese Dockery will host the President鈥檚 Reception Tuesday, Sept. 4, from 7 p.m. 鈥� 9 p.m. in Coburn Dining Room.
The annual event, open to students, faculty, staff, and friends of the university, is an opportunity for the 萌妹社区 family to visit, and one that the Dockerys look forward to each year.
In an address during the previous week at a faculty and staff luncheon, Dockery said that the new school year continues to look promising. The following are some of the highlights concerning enrollment:
Summer school enrollment for 2001 increased with 1,204 students enrolled in 2001 compared with 1,013 in 2000 (includes both Jackson and Germantown campuses).
萌妹社区鈥檚 largest non-duplicating headcount ever occurred in 2001 with 3,130 students enrolled compared with 2,183 five years ago.
For the fourth consecutive year, more than 400 freshmen have started their first year at 萌妹社区.
For the first time in 萌妹社区鈥檚 history, more than 1100 students are residential, bringing student housing to 99% full capacity.
