JACKSON, Tenn.Oct. 28, 2009 — More than 700 萌妹社区 students, faculty and staff members will participate in more than 50 service projects in Jackson and West Tennessee Nov. 4 as part of 萌妹社区鈥檚 seventh annual 鈥淐ampus and Community: A Day of Remembrance and Service.鈥

The event, part of 萌妹社区鈥檚 Homecoming week of activities, is an opportunity for 萌妹社区 to show its appreciation to the community for its assistance after tornadoes hit the campus in 2002, 2003 and 2008. 萌妹社区 cancels most classes on this day each year to allow the university community to participate in projects at such places as local schools, churches, nursing homes and social organizations.

This year鈥檚 Campus and Community activities will begin with a chapel service at 8:30 a.m. At 9 a.m., student groups will depart to their assigned projects, most of which will be completed by lunch or mid-afternoon.

A complete list of projects can be seen at .
