JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 29, 2011 — About 250 families of 萌妹社区 students will visit campus Sept. 30-Oct. 2 for Family Weekend 2011.
鈥淔amily Weekend is a great opportunity for families to come and get a glimpse into the lives of their college student,鈥� said Jarad Russell, assistant resident director of the Heritage Complex at 萌妹社区. 鈥淲e offer a lot of events that allow parents to experience 萌妹社区 culture and to meet some of the people that are living life with their son or daughter.鈥�
As part of Family Weekend, parents and siblings can attend classes with their 萌妹社区 students, attend optional workshops, and visit their students鈥� rooms. Other events that are part of the weekend:
- a chapel service at 10 a.m. on Sept. 30 with Todd Brady, special assistant to the president for university relations at 萌妹社区.
- a Make-a-Wish cookout, to support the Make-a-Wish Foundation, from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 30 in the Bowld Commons and the Grace Quad, sponsored by the ladies of Chi Omega and the Aramark staff.
- Movie on the Lawn from 8-10 p.m. Sept. 30 in Watters Quad.
- Friday night sibling sleepover, when siblings may stay overnight in the room of their brother or sister.
- brunch with President David S. Dockery at 10 a.m. Oct. 1 in the Carl Grant Events Center.
- All Sing at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel. All Sing is a musical competition open to all organizations on campus.
