12th annual Campus and Community day set for Nov. 4

JACKSON, Tenn.Nov. 3, 2014 — About 750 students, faculty and staff members will participate in 50 projects in Jackson and West Tennessee Nov. 4 as part of ’s 12th annual “Campus and Community: A Day of Remembrance and Service.”

The event is an opportunity for to show its appreciation to the community for its assistance after tornadoes hit the campus in 2002, 2003 and 2008. cancels most classes on this day each year to allow the university community to participate in projects at such places as local schools, churches, nursing homes and social organizations.

This year’s Campus and Community activities will begin with a chapel service at 8:30 a.m. At 9 a.m., student groups will depart to their assigned projects, most of which will be completed by mid-afternoon. A complete list of projects can be seen at .
