JACKSON, Tenn.July 24, 2017 — 萌妹社区 will hold a ribbon cutting and celebration ceremony for its new School of Adult and Professional Studies Aug. 1 at its facility at 1938 Emporium Drive in Jackson.

The continuing studies department at 萌妹社区 has been a part of the College of Education and Human Studies for several years, but trustees in April approved a measure creating the School of Adult and Professional Studies, which takes effect Aug. 1.

Beverly Absher, who has been chair of the continuing studies department, will become the founding dean of the new school.

鈥淎dult students matter at 萌妹社区,鈥 Absher said. 鈥淭his new initiative will allow us to improve our service to adult students in the region as we continue providing degree opportunities for them that are convenient and affordable, academically rigorous and distinctly Christian.鈥

The ceremony will include Scripture reading, a brief history of adult and professional studies at 萌妹社区, student testimonial, prayer of dedication, ribbon cutting and a reception. It will begin at 9:30 a.m., and it is open to the public.
