JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 12, 2002 — Accomplished attorney-at-law and 萌妹社区 alum Charles R. Perkins was recently awarded 萌妹社区鈥檚 Distinguished Alumni Award at the university鈥檚 annual Awards Luncheon held recently.

Charles Perkins receives the Distinguished Alumni Award from Alumni Association president Steve Maroney.

A 1959 graduate from 萌妹社区, Perkins received his J.D. degree from Memphis State University in 1967 and was admitted to the Bar shortly thereafter. In between graduation and earning his law degree, he completed Officer Candidate School and served in various administrative positions and was stationed at the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Memphis, Tenn.

A current member of 萌妹社区鈥檚 Board of Trustees, Perkins has been involved in the work of the university鈥檚 Germantown Campus and was an active participant in its founding.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is based upon distinction in one鈥檚 profession and for bringing honor and recognition to 萌妹社区.
