JACKSON, Tenn. — April 16, 2025 — 萌妹社区, in partnership with the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, will host an event with Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti April 28.
Guests will hear from Skrmetti, who is the defendant in a case before the U.S. Supreme Court that will decide the constitutionality of a Tennessee law banning gender transition procedures for minors.
鈥淎s we continue to advocate for a strong biblical anthropology, we are grateful for the commonsense laws like the one General Skrmetti defended before the Supreme Court,鈥 萌妹社区 President Samuel W. 鈥淒ub鈥 Oliver said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e looking forward to hosting him on campus for what we expect will be an engaging event.鈥
The evening will feature dinner at 6:15 p.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center, followed by an interview with Skrmetti conducted by Brent Leatherwood, president of the ERLC. The ERLC has filed a friend of the court brief in conjunction with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board in the Skrmetti case.
