GO Trips are designed to help students take the next steps toward a life that connects fully with God's global purpose by providing team-based opportunities to join ministry partners domestically and internationally in making Christ known. GO Trips, offered during spring break, May, and summer, provide opportunities to serve in ministry contexts such as church planting, campus outreach, orphan care, and community development.
Partner with local churches and ministries in Clarkston, Georgia, "the most diverse square mile in America," where there are more than 50 countries and 100 ethnic groups all residing within the same 1.4 square miles. Learn about different cultures by serving and engaging refugee communities through apartment outreach, after-school programs, prayer-walking, and physical labor.
Interact with youth and children at Orphanage Emmanuel through sports, water games, group activities, and daily "circle time." Assist with on-going projects on the farm and around the orphanage campus. Serve and encourage the staff and volunteers at Orphanage Emmanuel.

Assist 萌妹社区 alumni in their ministry to a community of 300,000 people with no evangelical church. Partner with the local team to make inroads into the community and share the gospel. Prayer-walk in the "City of Light" where many have never heard the truth of the gospel.
Serve the children and staff of Naomi's Village through community ministries in local schools, job training centers, and churches. Support the long-term strategy of IMB teams and local churches seeking to reach their communities. Engage college campuses and build relationships with students across Nairobi.
Partner with Extreme Response International at Fish Hoek Dream Centre (FHDC) in Cape Town and visit nearby townships and local ministries. Learn about working with vulnerable, at-risk children. Lead education reinforcement programming, including homework help, tutoring, and special enrichment instruction.
Partner with local churches in evangelism and community outreach efforts. Participate in English clubs, sports ministry, university outreach, and prayer-walking. For interested students, use photography, videography, graphic design, and writing to assist the media team in spreading the gospel.
Assist 萌妹社区 alumni in evangelism efforts among Persians in the greater Vancouver area. Participate in English classes and food distribution programs. Prayer-walk and help church planters build relationships in the local community.
Assist 萌妹社区 alumni in church planting efforts in the least-reached metro area in the United States. Participate in classes and events on local campuses in order to build relationships with LDS students. Prayer-walk, engage the lost with the gospel, and help church members build or strengthen relationships in their community.
Develop relationships with local university students. Sow seeds among a generation that is increasingly lost yet increasingly receptive to the gospel. Serve other gospel workers as they labor to equip and send Asians to the nations. Give your summer to impact someone's life for eternity and experience God in a life-changing way.
Partner with Joni and Friends ministry and Wheels on the World. Deliver wheelchairs to provide life-changing mobility to people living with disabilities. There are two deadlines for GO Trip applications. There is an "early bird" deadline (with a discounted application fee) and a regular application deadline. See above for this year's deadlines. Applications must be submitted online by midnight. Application fees can be paid in the Office of Student Discipleship and Engagement (SUB) along with a copy of your passport and/or driver's license.

No, it is not necessary to complete your application all at once. You will be able to save your application and log in again at a later time. We highly encourage you to save frequently.
If you do not have your passport here with you, you need to make arrangements to get us a copy as soon possible. We must be able to easily see your photo and read all the information and numbers on your passport.

GO Trip applicants must attend the GO Trip Team Reveal event as communicated in the application. At this event, you will receive important information for continuing in the GO Trip process as well as find out where you are going. You will also have the opportunity to meet your teammates and team leader(s).
The Office of Student Discipleship and Engagement requires all GO Trip participants to attend training and team meetings. Attendance is required to ensure that each participant receives vital information and training pertaining to the trip and to build team unity leading up to the trip. Large group training times will provide a foundation for the more specific preparation that will take place in team meetings.
It is very important to understand that participating in a GO Trip will require a sacrifice in your schedule. We encourage you to consider the time commitment of a GO Trip in comparison with a lower-level university course. Attendance is required and there will be preparation and/or assignments to complete outside of team meetings.
Excessive absences (with or without excuse) will be cause for dismissal from the team.
You can view your GO Trip account balance by logging into your application. Your account will not be set up until you are assigned to a team and have paid your deposit.

Each trip is different. GO Trips are priced based on information received from those we work with on site at each location. Costs vary by trip based on location, type of ministry, cost of living, logistical details, etc. Trip information is available beginning in September in the Office of Student Discipleship and Engagement.
Each individual participant is financially responsible for the cost of his/her GO Trip. The funds you raise will be applied to your trip account but are under the control of the GO Trip Program as stated in the Support Raising Policy. All deposits and payments must be paid in full to the Office of Student Discipleship and Engagement by the specified payment deadlines. If you miss a deadline without having made prior arrangements, your account will be subject to late payment penalties. In addition to the trip cost, you are financially responsible for the costs of any immunizations or medications deemed necessary for safety on the trip as well as the costs of a new or renewed passport (if needed).
Regardless of the reason or timing of withdrawal from the team and GO Trip program, if you are unable to go on your GO Trip, all funds (including application fee, payments, and gifts received from donors) are non-refundable and you will be held responsible for reimbursing the Office of Student Discipleship and Engagement for any prepaid expenses.
Your trip cost covers all of your on-field expenses. On-field expenses include things such as round-trip air travel and/or rental vehicles, transportation to and from your destination airport, housing, food, local transportation, ministry supplies and expenses, visa fees and airport taxes when applicable, and miscellaneous or unforeseen expenses. In addition to on-field expenses, your trip cost includes travel insurance, transportation to and from the departure airport, t-shirt, background check fee, team leader cost supplement, and an administrative fee. The supplement for the team leader cost allows us to help team leaders financially as they sacrifice personal time off work and time away from family, and other responsibilities to lead and serve with you. The administrative fee covers a number of things such as GO Trip materials, training expenses, global focus events, funding for additional support staff for GO Trips, contingency funds, and other general GO Trip program expenses.
The trip cost does not cover your passport or immunizations. You are personally responsible for paying these expenses but you can be reimbursed if you have excess funds once your trip has been paid in full.
While we plan to the best of our ability given the information we receive from the field months in advance, the trip cost is an estimate and is subject to change at any time. This could mean an increase or decrease in the trip cost. In the event of an increase in the trip cost, we will communicate this to you as early as possible and will work with you as needed.

We leave this decision to each individual team. There is no requirement that each team do a fundraiser, but if a team decides they want to, it is an option.
If you feel led to financially support my team, checks can be mailed to 萌妹社区 in the enclosed envelope or donations can be made online. Gifts made payable to 萌妹社区 will be considered tax-deductible and donors will receive a receipt from 萌妹社区. As a point of clarity, your contribution is being given to the GO Program of 萌妹社区. If for some reason I am unable to go on the trip, your contribution will remain in the GO Program fund.
Donations that meet the criteria are tax-deductible. Tax-deductible donations must be made payable to 萌妹社区 with the understanding that the donee organization (that is, the GO Trip Program of the Office of Student Discipleship and Engagement at 萌妹社区) has complete discretion and control over the use of all donated funds. The donor's name and mailing address is required and the student's name and trip should be noted with the donation.
No, you may not charge your GO Trip cost to your student account.
Deposits are due at the GO Trip Team Reveal. This deposit is non-refundable regardless of the reason or timing of your withdrawal or removal from the team. We strongly encourage that you personally pay this deposit. This will be discussed further in Support Raising Training, but we ask that you make personal sacrifices toward the cost of your trip and this is a good place to start.
In our experience, students who have worked hard and prayed hard from the beginning have been able to raise the necessary funds. During Support Raising Training we will provide you with important information about raising support as well as offer some ideas on how to do this. We are also available to coach you through the process of raising support.
We encourage you to communicate your concerns about finances to the Office of Student Discipleship and Engagement and to your team leader. The more you communicate with us about your financial situation, the more we are able to help you in the process.
If you have extra money in your account, the funds will be used as explained below (in this order):
Your excess funds cannot be refunded to you or to donors, nor can you use the money for study abroad programs, mission trips or fundraising efforts not part of the GO Trip Program of 萌妹社区. (Please note that these limitations are a result of tax laws and regulations).
Leftover funds will be used in the order described in the previous question. If you have leftover funds after this, then yes, you may use these funds toward a GO Trip next year. Your funds are only held for one program year and will not be available after next year.

You may need a passport in order to travel due to new TSA photo ID regulations. If your driver's license does not meet TSA REAL ID requirements, you will be required to have a valid passport, military ID, or permanent resident/green card in order to fly to your destination.
Check the expiration date. If your passport has already expired OR will expire within 6 months after the date of your return from the trip, you will need a new or renewed passport.

CDC divides vaccines for travel into three categories: routine, recommended, and required. While your doctor will tell you which ones you should have, it's best to be aware of them ahead of time.
If you have altered immunocompetence due to illnesses such as diabetes or HIV, please read or take a copy to your doctor prior to receiving any vaccinations.
Where you can get your shots depends on what shots you need. We recommend that you call ahead to make an appointment and confirm that the needed immunizations will be available.
Possible options for where to get shots include your primary care physician, Health Services on campus, and the local health department. If your insurance does not cover the cost of immunizations, you may want to call around to check prices.
Keep in mind that some immunizations are required weeks or months ahead of time and/or are a series of shots over a period of time. Some health care providers may have to order the specific immunizations that you need so be sure to plan ahead.
